Description

This villa is located on a land with an area of 8000 square meters in the Damavand summer region in the vicinity of Tehran, which is supposed to be a residence place for accommodation of the members of a relatively populated family - including grandparents (employer) and the families of their 4 children – during vacations.
As the chief designer of this project in the Zandigan consulting , I set my goal in the design to create a building that benefits from all the facilities and features of a prosperous and luxurious life, meanwhile associating simplicity and a rustic atmosphere. To this end, the physical program of this project was organized on 3 floors, including a workshop (studio), entertainment room, janitor unit, mechanical room, and greenhouse in the basement, a guest room (with independent service), kitchen and pantry, dining room, living room, and terrace on the ground floor, and four master bedrooms, a pantry, and a large terrace on the first floor.
The two core criteria of the client for designing the facade of the project included enjoying the beautiful view and landscape of the garden and having a view in harmony with the old architecture of the area. To do so, utilizing a void in the main hall and the use of full-height glass in the north façade made allowed benefiting from the beautiful view of Damavand mountain and the artificial pond designed in the garden. Also, by using local materials and familiar architectural forms of the area such as galvanized sheets on the sloping roof or irregular ashlars in the facade, we did our best to create a building not to be distinct from the context and texture of the region while appearing novelty and exquisite and seems that it has been there for ages.
