Description

The flat, how is configures, poses some interesting questions to be addressed: first of all the identification of functional spaces that now are scattered and do not characterize the area they express. The flat lacks those elements essential to daily living how the living area that has to be separated from the sleeping area and ancillary spaces. In addition, the space dedicated to the study, which could then be single bedroom should be shown at the same time near the living room but also sheltered from the kitchen and has to be on the passage that leads to the sleeping area.Because is no possible to move technical components of the kitchen, it was decided to leave it in the same position but open it to the living room with a partial removal of the wall between the two areas. The entrance is not closed but opens to a spacious and bright room. The wardrobe allows easy reception of guests. Since both the living area and the kitchen give to the north, with the demolition of the central wall, the space is become bright and pleasant for everyday life. The niches that have been created allow to insert forniture without interfering paths, describing the space they contain. The study allows to work comfortably with two people. If necessary can become guest room or single bedroom. Despite the size of the apartment a small utility room is always useful especially if is near to the bathroom. The bathroom, being the only space, that the legislation allows to have forced ventilation, its size is more than enough to meet the requirements of the apartment. The project stems from a basic of difficult accommodation, nevertheless using punctual interventions the apartment has improved its space, increased uses areas and general lighting: in fact, since most of the rooms face north, the possibility of connecting kitchen / dining room and living room has expanded the boundaries, and the permeability in this way is complete. The study, in communication with the living room, does not interfere with the same, but is united easily to the sleeping area in the event that this study room were to become a single bedroom in the future.
