We would like to renew our Ice Cream store / Cafeteria in Trieste. The current concept (self-service ice-cream and yogurt) is not working. So we would like to shift to a home-crafted natural ice-cream concept (summer) and cafe (all year). The store is not so big, but it's in a very crowded area of the city (near Mac Donalds and other famous cafes). Please google map "Piazza Goldoni 10, Trieste". We have obtained the authorization to sell the ice-cream and cafe directly on the street, modifying the window layout (creating a tilting window).

The scope of this contest is to create a complete concept, to be implemented in the 2019 season.

The designer should:
- Analyze the current ice-cream market present in Trieste (have a look of best reviewed ice cream and cafes)
- Create a new brand
- Design the new shop layout
- Design shop windows (including 2 top warehouse windows)
- Create in-store marketing material (billboards)
- Choose furniture, lamps, and other finishing

REQUIREMENTS:
- Try to save on renovation costs. Keep existing material or lights when possible. Feel free to change colors, tiling, lights etc. if it fits your concept
- We would need to make the toilet bigger because now can't be used by customers since it's not compliant for disabled users. Have a look at city regulations for that, because there is a minimum area.
- We would keep the laboratory where it is now. Consider a glass window that separate it from the retail area
- Give a special focus on how to design the street windows to MAKE THEM CONVERT pedestrians into customers
- We need to create a fresh brand for our ice-cream store / cafeteria so extra marketing material is welcome
- There is a spiral staircase to the warehouse. We have extra space in the warehouse (we keep consumables in that)

ABOUT NEW BRANDING:
We won't use anymore the brand "SiSi" and its color scheme. The uploaded pictures refer on the space as it is now, and the business is not profiting. We are looking for a completely different space, that reminds to the customers NEW BRAND VALUES.

Our new values:
- Healthy
- Hand-crafted
- Artisanal
- Tailor made

New product line:
- Ice-cream (gelato) home-made and served by our "mastro gelatiere"
- Coffee tradition: espresso, cappuccino, macchiatone
- Specific products for people with allergies: gluten free, lactose free, nuts free, veg

ABOUT MATERIALS:
We have a limited budget to implement this project. Think about recycled materials (eg. OSB) or cheaply available, that fit our brand values.

MACHINERY LIST (stub):
There will be a showcases for ice-cream selling. Fridge showcase: 2156 (L) x 1228 (H) x 535 (P) We are considering to put a second showcase in front of the tiling window. There will be 2 machines for the laboratory, plus existing fridge and sink Machine: 95,5 (H) x 45 (L) x 83 (P) There will be also: - Coffee machine - Orange juice machine - Dishwasher (under the desk)

** DESCRIZIONE IN ITALIANO

Vorremmo rinnovare il nostro concept di gelateria / caffetteria. L'attuale concept (gelato e yogurt self-service) non sta funzionando. Quindi vorremmo spostarci su un concept di gelateria tradizionale e naturale (estivo) e caffetteria (tutto l'anno). L'area commerciale non è molto grande, ma il posizionamento del negozio è ottimo (vicino a Mac Donald e altri caffè famosi). Cercate su Google "Piazza Goldoni 10, Trieste". Abbiamo ottenuto l'autorizzazione dalla sopraintendenza per modificare una vetrina in modo da vendere direttamente sulla strada (vetrina basculante).

L'obiettivo di questo progetto è creare un concept da lanciare nella stagione estiva 2019.

Il designer deve:
- Analizzare l'attuale mercato delle gelaterie e caffetterie a Trieste (guardate su tripadvisor i locali meglio recensiti)
- Creare un nuovo brand
- Creare un nuovo layout del punto commerciale
- Progettare le vetrine (incluse le vetrine del magazzino superiore) in modo da massimizzare la conversione del traffico pedonale
- Creare il materiale di marketing in-store (es. tabelloni gusti, branding etc)
- Scegliere finiture, arredamento, illuminazione etc..

REQUISITI:
- Cercate di risparmiare sui costi di ristrutturazione evitando soluzioni troppo dispendiose. Cambiate pure colori, piastrelle, luci se pensate che possa meglio esprimere il vostro concept
- Vorremmo far diventare il bagno anche per i clienti, in modo da permetterci la somministrazione di caffè e bevande che ora non possiamo fare. Il bagno deve essere a norma disabili, quindi informatevi sul regolamento ASL / Comunale
- Vorremmo tenere il laboratorio dove è ora (poichè ci sono già i cablaggi e scarichi). Pensate ad esempio ad un separatore in vetro.
- Concentratevi sul design delle vetrine per massimizzare il traffico pedonale (attenzione che davanti all'entrata c'è purtroppo una pensilina del bus)
- Nella creazione del brand, ogni materiale extra è benvenuto
- C'è una scala a chiocciola nel negozio, che lo collega al piano superiore utilizzato come magazzino (dove teniamo i materiali di consumo)

NUOVO BRANDING:
Il nome "SiSi" e lo schema colori non verrano più utilizzati. Le immagini caricate mostrano il negozio attuale, e non hanno a che fare con la nuova attività. La nuova attività dovrà trasmettere al cliente NUOVI VALORI:

I nostri valori:
- Salutare
- Fatto a mano
- Artigianale
- Fatto su misura

Nuova linea prodotti:
- Gelato artigianale servito dal "mastro gelatiere"
- Tradizione del caffè: espresso, cappuccino, macchiatone
- Prodotti specifici per intolleranze alimentari: senza glutine, lattosio, noci, veg
