Description

Locating in a residential area in Danang city, this house was built on a narrow and long plot like all the adjacent houses. The requirement is how to create a living space for two families: the owner’s household and his son’s household. They want to seperate the living spaces while still remaining the connection and the interaction among the members of two families. The initial idea is that this house should be generated from a range of simple blocks which are alternately arranged within green space and trees. In other words, I tried to create a dynamic and flexible space where there is an abundant interaction between human and nature. The courtyard in the middle of this structure plays as a connecting point where all members can communicate with each other and interact with nature. Further more, brick, a traditional material in this region, is used for all building facades in order to highlight the local characteristic of the building.
