Learning and becoming proficient in three CAD so ware packages through a 2D and 3D digital redrawing of an existing residence.
CAD Skills Development
The course was around learning how to use the CAD so ware packages of AutoCad, Rhinoceros and Vray. The most interesting part it was that the studio was not a passive lecture-type class. We were all assigned an existing private house and asked to design it step by step by applying what we learn in class.
This course taught me not only how to properly and efficiently use the so ware, but also how to use them together and when to use each one individually.
Process
I firstly developed 2D drawings in AutoCad which were then transferred into Rhinoceros for 3D-modelling. This was then used to develop the rendered visualisations in V-Ray. I find this approach of transferability a very efficient way of working and it is something that I still use today.
