A private summer house designed in two halves in order to respond to the polder flat lands on one side and the imposing dike and WWII bunker on the other.
This design is the result of a thorough analysis of the location. The desired synergy between the existing bunker, the dyke landscape and a new holiday home, has been translated vigorously by us. Based on Eco-innovative and sustainability aspects, the design assignment formulated in which reuse, emissions and a healthy indoor climate where paramount. Thus the idea arose to raise the walls of the holiday house from reused concrete paving slabs with a green roof in between, making it look like the landscape is visually continued. The bedrooms are positioned between the closed patio and the open living space with a wide view.
