Description

Project developed for the municipality of Mazamitla, this region is visited for it's eco tourism spots, forest cabins and outdoor sports.

The municipality was looking to connect the extend the existing forest walkway with a focus on making it safe, simple and that it featured the region's craftmanship (stonework, steelwork, cobblestones, claywork). The municipality was also looking to avoid the rustic look of the town but still exhibit local craftmanship. The design takes into consideration the level difference in the street to create a "sunken plaza" and two walkways that are completely wheelchair accessible.

Utilizing local materials only, the stone walkway connects the two main areas of the project; the new stables and the existing walkway to create an open and accessible linear park for the community.
