Il progetto consiste in un piccolo loft in una dependance presso l'istituto IED, a Cagliari, per gli insegnanti provenienti da altre città che hanno bisogno di un alloggio temporaneo.
Il tema del progetto era quello di creare un interno nell'interno, senza modificare la struttura perimetrale, la quale ha due grandi porte finestre e ampie finestre in due parti. Così, ho creato un parallelepipedo che contiene tutti i comfort di una casa. Il blocco, rivestito con pannelli di legno, è totalmente staccato dalle pareti dell’edificio e dal soffitto. Il centro contiene un bagno, collegato ad un sistema di aspirazione dell’aria, l'unico collegamento al soffitto. Sul lato sinistro, due pareti scorrevoli a libro scoprono la zona cucina e la zona giorno, quando necessario; sul lato destro, l'area lavoro e la zona notte. Le porte a libro, quando aperte, sono contenute in un telaio metallico che fa da cornice alla parete che si crea. Grazie a questo sistema la struttura può essere completamente aperta o chiusa, quindi la stanza può essere utilizzata anche per altri scopi (per esempio, mostre temporanee).

The project is a mini loft in an annexe in the IED institute, in Cagliari, for teachers coming from other cities who need a temporary accommodation.
The topic of the project was to create a space within a space, without changing the perimetral structure. It has two big door windows and large windows in two sides.
So I created a parallelepiped which contains all the comforts of a home. The block, wooden paneled, is totally detached from the walls of the building, and also from the ceiling.
The center contains a bathroom, connected to a system of air aspiration, the only connection to the ceiling. On the left side, two sliding folding walls uncover the kitchen area and the living area, when necessary; on the right side, the working area and the sleeping area. The folding doors, when opened, are packaged into a metal frame. Thanks to this system the structure can be fully opened or closed, so the room can also be used for other purposes (for example, temporary exhibitions).
