Project for high school building in Zadar, Croatia.

Plot for school is located by seaside, and surrounded by small family houses in suburban zone.
Intervention asked for some dominant in space, urbanistically some higher point in the almost flat architecture. School as a tower should serve as a tower of knowledge.
The idea is to lift up the whole school from the ground floor, make ground floor light and transparent, with a walk through - cut in the building, to not lose view on the sea from behind to plot.
School is also designed to be accessible for any outside users, with a library, sport hall, gym, restaurant, etc, as it would serve in the surrounding as the main building for community.
Classrooms are set on upper floor where they have enough light and most possible privacy for studying. Students have open spaces up, meeting points on every floor, so they don't neccessarily have to go down all the time.
