Here is our proposal for the interior design of your apartment.
We were very impressed by the beautiful ceilings and high spaces in your home, so in our design we tried to complement these already beautiful spaces with suitable furnishings and colours.
We have not changed the functional layout or removed any walls as you requested. We thought the husband’s workstation would best be placed in the living room as there is more space and occasional evening or late night work would leave the wife’s sleep unbothered.
The ceilings are striking, so in order to put the emphasis on them we used predominantly white paint for the walls. We have used natural colours – white, grey, light grey, moose, natural wood /oak, maple/ colour with a hint of yellow and blue.
We have decorated the wall behind the sofa in the living room with moulding as it provides a plain wall with a subtle and beautiful detailing, but a nice painting would also be fine.
The wardrobe in the entrance hall continues visually into the volume of the library in the living room. Both are decorated with moulding, but plain surfaces would also look fine if you do not fancy this detailing.The same happens with the wall and wardrobe in the master bedroom.
The kitchen is a “hidden kitchen”, which you might fully open while cooking or completely close when you wish, for example when guests are coming and you haven’t had the time to put things in order. The moulding is, once again, optional. Just a remark – we noticed there is the electricity counter on the outer wall after we have completed the visualizations, so please refer to the floor plan for the kitchen equipment placement.
The furniture we used in the design is modern, with just a few pieces with an old times flavor. We have chosen furnishings with good design which we believe suit the spaces, but we realize you might find some of them expensive. You can replace any of them with locally found, more affordable ones or have similar pieces produced for you by a local furniture company, which would most likely result in a far better price.
