The main concept was to create a house with different qualities where every habitant will be able to find its own spot, but at the same time flow between spaces will connect them. So people who live the house can choose to isolate or be more public. As for the organization of the floor plan the goal was to create an open living area that its living spaces expand to the exterior and create spaces without borders in&out. The private areas were organized so that the bedrooms can take advantage of the sunlight and privacy.
The entrance is directly connected with the parking area. The entrance is at the open living area with the glass windoors which create the feeling that there are no borders. The kitchen is lightly separated with light wall. On the other side an in & out fireplace separates the interior living area with the exterior bbq and dinning. Light borders like these described before create a united living area which has flow between the different uses it hosts. All these spaces are linearly designed to take advantage of the glass façade to the garden and expand their uses at the exterior space. This creates a core with the more public uses of the house that gives life to the main part of the building. At a lower level and directly connected with these spaces there is the pool lounge and the pool.
Furthermore behind the kitchen are put the auxillary spaces which contain a guest bathroom and a storage/laundry room. Opposite of them there is a gym area which is separated with a semi-transparent wall with the rest of the house.
The master bedroom is placed isolated at the one side of the building which hosts the living areas and is oriented in order to has its own privacy and take advantage of the east sunlight. Gardens and planting hug the bedroom. This in combination with a big glass windoors create the feeling of an outdoor sleeping area and create unique experience at its inhabitant. The two other bedrooms are placed vernacularly to the volume which contains the living areas and the master bedroom. This was the key element in order to secure the privacy of these rooms. Smaller openings create a different atmosphere which goes with the feeling of privacy at this part of the building.
“Public” areas are gathered at main part of the house but at the same time are slightly separated. “Private” areas are clearly isolated and the big bedrooms give enough space for privacy. At the same time these private areas which are more hidden have a totally different feeling compared with the open living area. Between these two zones there are the auxillary spaces of the house which serve both zones.
For the floor plan there is an option B where the square meters of the house are reduced at 180sqm compared with the 200sqm of version A. (compressed plans are the same but they are lower quality and less storage space). Also for the facades there is the model in order to measure every dimension you may need.
At last but not least, the goal was to create a house with sunny and pleasant spaces that at the same time will make easy its everyday stay.
