Description

Landscape is the key for shapes.
Tradition is the key for authenticity.
Needs are the key for functionality.
Dreams are the key to the future.

All these words can tell you stories or give you meditation inputs. In this project, we tried to merge harmoniously natural and anthropized context, building tradition and contemporary shapes, technical needs and great spaces and finishes.

The main composition theme we adopted is the view.
We cut a traditional house volume in function of nature and city. The context shapes the whole architecture. Rooms are not just lighted by windows, they are decorated with beautiful scenes of the surroundings.

A double side house.
The underground floor, protected from the earth on the north side, can explode his modernity in the pool area on the south side of the house.
The upper volumes, shaped with tradition and finished with technology can give energy efficiency to the whole building.
The patio, an in-between area that divides but joins the house areas. It descends with the stairs to cover the pool and barbecue area, connecting architecture and nature, building and garden.

From the technical side:

Foundations are made with an integrated crawl space that protects the upper floor from humidity.

We decide to add a complete gap between the building and the terrain on the mountain side, while we covered with an embankment the northwest side to add insulation and freedom of spaces. Basement walls are made with Climablock system that provides the maximum insulation of polystyrene and the strength of reinforced concrete.

The upper volumes are made with solid but light wood structures with a good insulation package. The metal roof would be a perfect place to install photovoltaic and solar systems.

Windows are inspired from Panoramah that made transparent partitions with a minimum frame (2 cm) and maximum insulating technology.

From the functional side:

We managed the space creating
- four bedrooms with own bathroom (every bedroom is more than 14 sqm in the way to accommodate a double bed if needed)
- two open space living rooms on a huge patio that can be covered with a fabric veil to get more shadow in the summer season.
- a basement room (can manage over 20 people inside), perfectly connected with the barbecue and the pool area.
- a wine cellar protected under outside stairs and ventilated from the foundation's crawl space.
- a large laundry and systems room that uses the volume under the inside stairs.

I would be very happy to collaborate with the garden, the garage and the execution project in case of winning.
