The main concept is to create definition between the living area and the bedroom. The livingroom, wide and open, consist in two different zones: the kitchen and the living. The use of vivid colors help to strengthen the effort of the light that has been the core aim of my proposal.
Anyway, also opening the space i prefered to keep the kitchen in a separate, but "open" room. Most of my effort was spent in creating a high comfort bedroom with all the features you were asking for: a huge walk-in wardrobe to store your stuff and the inclusion of the main bathroom directly accessible by the bedroom.
We decided to design the ceiling only in the entry-space and the corridor, to cover the beam. We didnt put it in the living room because it would make the space smaller. I hope you like it.
