We left all the old heating system pipes and electrical instalations since there is no need for you to upgrade or replace and further into the project it would cost you more money than just changing some furniture and furnishing. Also that would make your life little rumbled since you would have to take out furniture so the workers can open the walls to change them. There is no need for that. Simply upgrading the apearence will be enough and benefitial. All the materials are wooden since it is the best material by far. Its the most humble of materials, yet elegant in design, it makes the ambient more natural. Sliding doors are a big plus, as you already know with the sliding door you have in the living room. So we changed all the doors into sliding ones because it will be more practical and easy to put more bookselves for use, because you gain lots of space which would be otherwise reserved for opening the doors. Only the door used to enter the home must be kept a classic, swing door, due to regulations. The pillar you wanted to hide is now hidden with a corner bookself which is more practical as it offers more space and looks more elegant than the classic, somewhat robust, lone-standing tall shelf. The furniture we used is minimalistic, beautiful and goes especially well with the wall colors. We selected the pieces to be mostly white and darker brown wood, because of the calm effect these colors have. You have a little ottoman for one more person to sit, or for you to put your legs to relax whilst watching TV, it can even be used as a mobile side table. The sofa we chose can be bought in two sizes, they both fit your room, the "Extra large" size sofa provides space for more people, the "Large" sofa lets you place another side table next to it, on which you can place your laptop, tablet or books when not used. The KALLAX bookshelf can be assembled in many ways, we chose the layout with 2 shelves on one side, 3 on the other, and one corner element which can hold books or decorations. The shelves can be modified into drawers or holding boxes for toys or files, with the adequate additions, and look like the example in the furniture catalog. The shelves above the TV are very similar to the ones you already have, so you don't need to change those. The other shelves are there to expand your library and add some movement with their custom shapes. The dining set is composed of a table for 6 and 6 chairs, and is situated in the same place. The set looks like the one in one of the example photos. We didn't place table and floor lamps because we didn't know for sure where your outlets are placed, but we think that a floor lamp could be placed next to the TV sideboard(we placed a guitar there in the render photos) and near the dining table, table lamps can be placed in the custom shelves because they have double-height slots. We also placed carpets, altough you can suffice without them, they make the space look more neat and lighter because of their white color, and they are a better surface for the kids to play on, because they are softer than the wood floor. The colors we picked are all in the sikkens catalogue and are picked from your suggestions. They provide a light, calm ambient with enough contrast between them to make them look better.
