An important element for this project, contrary to the original essence of the building as a cinema, is the sun and its light.
The sun is a feature that can also be seen in the sinuous shapes of the project such as the circular hollow and staircase above the stage, the filtration wall at the entrance and the custom-made tables.
Nonetheless the main focus was to provide sufficient natural light inside the building and this has been achieved mainly through the placement of several skylights on the existing roof and the removal of the physical barriers that blocked the light coming from Via Sapri (for instance the slab below the platea has been replaced to generate a hollow and therefore the passage of light from the windows to the floor below).
This one is not another co-working space in a former warehouse, it is a co-working inside a cinema and this new program of a working place has to be able to harmoniously adapt and integrate itself in the space of the cinema.
We focused our attention on the collective workspaces not just for the formal part of work but for the social interactions that happen far from one's desk as well.
