Description

The intent of the design is to formulate a graphic identity for the space given the fact that most of the spaces have already been designed. The colours present in the logo for ‘Stars and Cows’ have been taken as visual cues which are repeated throughout the design.
For the ground and mezzanine floor, a flexible space is designed with the following possibilities:
a) Conference / Seminar space for 78 people (On the ground level only)
b) Conference / Seminar space for 36 people (On the ground level only)
c) Informal discussion area with coffee tables for 72 people (On the ground and mezzanine level)
The space can be divided by moving 4 large book shelves on wheels to make a partition in the space. All of the round tables are folding for easy storage when not in use. The colours of the logo are abstracted into a graphic wall visible from everywhere. The area under the mezzanine is suggested for the projection area (most dark). 2 coffee tables and a refrigerator are proposed in the space for the guest.
The first floor is the co-working space. With concrete serving as both the floor and the roof- a continuity would be ensured by entering into a reception with the table cast out of concrete- seemingly rising from the floor itself. The graphic identity is abstracted into bands in four colours- Grey, white, blue and orange which flow along the floor to the 4 rooms in the centre- 1 waiting, 2 formal meeting and 1 informal meeting space. The corridor is imagined as an industrial space with the air conditioning ducts, cable trays and continuous a T5 lighting strip. The bulk of the furniture in the co-working space is from opendesk- an open source repository for furniture that can be downloaded and CNC cut. All the drawings are available on their website. This furniture would give a raw appeal while pointing towards the future of design. The cafeteria is designed with a cooking and breakfast counter with seating for 16 people on folding round tables.
The second floor is the more formal office space. Here, the corridor would follow the same logic but the furniture is sourced from Ikea. The board room is designed as a reflection of the company image- with colours that are abstracted on the walls and the ceiling coffer. A small informal meeting space for 4 people has been earmarked in the board room.
