The main goal of this contest is the splitting of my 1st floor flat (64 m2) in two apartments (30 + m2) to find the best internal layout for young couples. We would really appreciate if we could optimize the details in these new flats.
This a house with 140 m2. Our project is located at the first floor.
FIRST APARTMENT
– 1 living room with kitchen (solutions with modular and well-conceived kitchen to optimize space are welcome).
– 1 bathroom (with shower, sink, water-closet, mirror and radiator to dry towels).
– 1 bedroom
SECOND APARTMENT
– 1 kitchen (solutions with the kitchen that can be occasionally detached are welcome)
– 1 living-room. It would be better to have an open wall to better communicate with the kitchen.
– 1 bedroom
– 1 bathroom (with shower, sink, water-closet, mirror and radiator to dry towels).
Please note that the flat’s main door should give immediate access to the stairs.
It is mandatory that any apartments have independent draining pipe without creating easements. So for example, the bath or kitchen of the apartment 1 cannot drain in the apartment 2 and vice versa.
But, we can create another pipe for the WC close to the bathroom, because we own the whole house and we are planning to have the same floorplans at the ground level that those at the first floor. In this case, the new pipe for the WC in the flat 1 would go to the basement and join the other pipe for the WC of the flat 2 in the basement.
Please also note that we don’t like corridors. Especially this big one in the middle of the existing flat.
We like modern design, not too minimal with plain and light colours. We also like metal and inox. We would prefer to have built-in solutions for example for the showers or bookcases.
For the furniture, we would like to have low-cost solutions, not only Ikea or Maison du Monde (even if it’s ok), but it would be a plus to have also décor inspired to famous designers if you can find them low-cost.
Thanks you and Good luck!
