Description

Dear Client,

It was a true pleasure working on your project, and I hope I've managed to meet your expectations.

My aim was to create a comfortable and beautiful home that meets your functional needs as well as aesthetic preferences regarding style and atmosphere.
As the house is in an unfinished state, this made space for a lot of opportunities regarding the design of the house even though the main for was already set. The surroundings are spectacular and so most rooms are merged with the outdoors and therefore arranged this way, placing the lounge and master bedroom towards the garden which is the most intimate area of the property, the guest bedroom looking at the pedestrian pathway into the garden and the kitchen and dining having both a direct connection with the lounge and with the garden through an outdoor dining space.

In order to create a more comfortable garden with a swimming pool and outdoor dining and relaxation areas, access to the house was changed from the back of the house to the part of the house that is facing the access road.
The car parking spaces are also moved in order to obtain a relaxed back garden without the presence of vehicles.
(using the swimming pool while looking at cars is not such a pleasant view, instead, it would be possible to enjoy a setting that is as natural as possible with only a few paths and stone walls around.
The house is divided lengthwise into a sleeping and a day area.
The day area consists of an open space serving as an entrance, dining area, and kitchen that continues to open up towards the lounge creating a continuous space, and a study/gym attached to the entrance part of the space.

The night area of the house is made up of a large master bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a guest bedroom, and a built-in laundry in the hallway connecting the two areas.

I'breafly going to go through each individual space and elaborate on some decisions.

As mentioned earlier, the gate is redesigned, reforming the outer wall in a different way, which is also, more orthogonal as you mentioned you would prefer. The heights of the walls did not change and they are still following the natural terrain.
A pergola is formed by the gate providing some shading and if needed water could be easily brought to this part of the plot as well.

As the house is approached the entrance is enhanced both with shaders and a staircase that leads onto the roof terrace. This way, on occasions that you're hosting a dinner party outdoors or have guests, they cay can easily access the terrace without passing through the whole house.

As you enter the house on the left there is some built-in storage for coats and other items that need to be easily reachable, and a small bathroom that is easily accessible from all living areas of the house.
On the left is a study with a large desk for hobbies and a treadmill and some gym equipment placed on a small shelf.
This room could eventually also be open towards the terrace on the side if you would prefer to make this room more open.

The dining area can comfortably hoast 6-8 people and could eventually be extended even further.

The kitchen is organized in a line with an island towards the dining area. It is fully equipped with a fridge and freezer, oven, microwave, sink, dishwasher, and a lot of storage space in the lower and upper cupboards. (Visible in the renders)

The lounge is placed in the space where the open veranda used to be. The entrance with the staircase is kept while redesigning the staircase to follow the line of the seamless swimming pool reaching from the lounge into the garden giving you a spectacular view of the surroundings. The lounge is somewhat divided into two by a two-sided sofa so that you can either spend time around the fireplace in the cozy evenings or enjoy the fresh morning breeze with a view of nature on the other side.

The master bedroom is spacious and fits a large 200x220 cm bed with nightstands on the sides. The wardrobe is linear as to use the corridor space as much as possible and give you a lot of storage options with a small vanity corner. A bathtub is placed inside the bedroom giving you a more pleasant atmosphere to enjoy while having a relaxing bath since there is a large walk-in shower for quicker and more private occasions.
The bathroom is divided from the bedroom with a sliding door that can be open or closed at all-time since only the sink is visible as you walk by or through the large glass panels opening towards the garden.

The guest bedroom is shown with a bed size 160x200cm as it would be optimal for this space, but the space can fit a larger bed if preferred. The bedroom, besides a bed, has a built-in wardrobe and seating arrangements can be made by the window overlooking the pedestrian parts into the garden.

The laundry is fitted into a double-doored built-in cupboard with a washer and dryer and eventually boiler if needed. (I was uncertain of the options you had for hot water)

The chosen colors and materials blend in with the location and fit the overall wabi-sabi aesthetic you were aiming for, creating a very calm, cozy, and relaxing atmosphere both inside and outside the house.

If you decide to take this direction, and have any further questions, feel free to contact me.

Kind regards
