Description

The project imagines a regular and natural rectangular extension of 28 mq of the existing structure (west side), with the same height and the same roof incline (except the part called “transition between the old and the new” which have opposite incline).
The extension is a wooden bio- construction.

There isn't the possibility to have a connection to the methane service so is proposed to install a thermo fireplace with 23 Kw power, which is connected to a converter able to produce hot water.
The chimney according to Frank Lloyd Wright was the fulcrum of the house. In this project this element conserve this role and became the unifying element between the old construction and the extension. The chimney is an Italiana Camini Thermo fireplace and in front of it are assembled iron shelfs , used like a woodshed.
To guarantee the hot water supply also in the springy and summery period (when the thermo fire place obviously is turned off) is installed the Ariston Nuos Evos: a hot water heather connected to an electric pump.
As regards the refresh system will be installed common Fujitsu air conditioners.
The external units (Ariston and Fujitsu system) are installed in the back north facade of the house, conveniently covered by wooden boards.

The existing structure isn't subjected by a twisting. In the old building limited are the interior wall demolitions. As indicated by the client the project imagines two bedrooms (single and double) and a useful storage closet. The east bathroom remains the same, as indicated by the client, the second bathroom is reduced. With reference to the hygienical sanitary dispositions is created a passageway, element of connection between the night zone spaces.
The existing old building doors and windows are unchanged and conserved, each room is equipped with a window and a door + window, responding to the 1/8 windows area requirement

The extension is composed by an ample living , with large glass wall in the south-west corner. The kitche is opened to the living and is created a “breakfast island”

The extension construction exterior facades are composed by wooden cladding, except the south facade which is daubed, to give continuation with the older building facade .
In place of the existing mechanical rolling shutter , as darken system the project imagines sliding wooden shutters, like Griesser. These new elements create uniformity between the old and the new construction and guarantee security. ( If is'nt sufficient is possible to integrate an extra grating system which costs among 7.000 euro)
The sense of the shutter wooden boards is horizontal, reinforcing the idea of the horizonatal sliding.
The contrasting sense of the facade wooden cladding is vertical and gives an idea of push to the top.
The roof is in coppi simlar to the existing construction.

The outdoor area is revisited, with an extension of the green area and a realization of a wooden deck sidewalk as a continuation to the existing. Is also created a pergola for relax time. The removed paving is recovered to build the frontal access part of the home.

The furniture solutions proposed generally are standard typology. As regards the n°1 and n°5 are proposed two characteristic elements, produced by a young design studio: SLAQ
Also here we can see the predominant wooden element that contrast with the metallic support structure.
