We’ve got a small apartment (43,8 sq m + 4,6 sq m of balcony) for two. The main objective for us is to have an apartment that will suit our lifestyle which includes work&study (thus we need a work place), cooking (this requires a kitchen with a number of appliances, cook- and dinnerware storage as well as big fridge and of course a table for at least 4 persons), cycling (so we have 2 bikes to store) and having lots of clothes and shoes:). Personal treadmill at home is also a big-big dream so it would be cool if some place for it would be found. As I mentioned earlier the apartment had a balcony and I’d like to mention that here in Russia we have balconies with ceiling and windows. Yes, it sounds weird but I’m not sure how to put it correctly in English. These pictures will give you an idea of what I’m talking about: http://www.inmyroom.ru/posts/esli-u-vas-est-zasteklennyy-balkon-eto-ogromnyy-plyus So these 4,6 sq m of balcony can be used as well as the main apartment. I attach the apartment plan we have now. In case if you need any additional dimensions please let us know. Please note that this is a current plan but we also consider an option of offsetting some walls (i.e. to make Room 2 smaller and Room 1 bigger so that Room 2 could be a small bedroom and Room 1 was not a hallway but a living room). Here goes the list of what we want in our apartment. I grouped it in a way that we generally do in Russia but of course you may change it. Room and the hallway: Bed (size 205×165 cm) http://www.bootic.com/ikea/furniture/beds-and-accessories/beds/ikea-engan-bed Bedside table or chest to store small stuff (phones, alarm clock, face cremes etc.) Kind of work place for one person (to place a laptop, some papers and textbooks) Flatscreen TV (32″) Place for make up smth like dressing table or similar (enough day light is a must + place to store a considerate amount of cosmetics incl. nail polish) Clothes storage (current amount of seasonal clothes in usage: 40 hangers per person (this makes 80 in total) plus the similar amount is in store for the other season) Outerwear storage (10 hangers total) Shoes storage (20 pairs for everyday wear + 30 for other seasons and special occasions) 2 bicycles Wi-fi router IRobot vacuum cleaner Ironing board A place for a drying rack like this http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/30227912/ (normally we fold it out on the balcony but we need a place to store when it is not used) Air conditioner Air humidifier Full-length mirror Apple TV Kitchen: Hob with 4 cooking zones Rice cooker Kitchen aid Oven Microwave oven Dishwasher Electric kettle Fridge (full-size of 2m height) Cookware (8-10 pans and pots) and bakeware Dinnerware and glassware Cutlery Food storage (pasta, flavour, rice and other grocery) Storage for kitchen household supplies (i.e. cleaners, trash bags, paper towels) Small bar for 10-12 bottles max (thereof 2-3 bottles of wine) Table for 4 persons min (extendable may be an option as sometimes we may host up to 10 guests) Bathroom and toilet: Bathtub Toilet with a shower Washing machine Bath towels storage (as well as bedcloth and tablecloth storage) Mop and bucket Laundry basket Towel warmer As you can see from the photos the apartment is not in best condition and the last renovation was quite a long time ago. Most furniture and decoration will be bought (except for the bed and some kitchen appliances) thus you are free to suggest your ideas. The only problem is that here in Russia we don’t have any global brands except for IKEA, Hoff, Zara home and H&M home. Something can be ordered via internet but for furniture pieces it would not be an option due to significant delivery costs. Still when it comes to decoration these web-sites can be used: http://www.crateandbarrel.com http://www.jcpenney.com/dotcom/for-the-home/dept.jump?id=dept20000011 http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/1/store.html?TID=TN:FH:FH http://www.potterybarn.com http://www.proidee.de/concept-store?SID=SID_EuT2ipGBbppK9aTtjYrhebng7txx http://www.thehut.com/catalogue/home-garden.list http://www.interiorplace.com http://loja.inexistencia.com http://www.fancyhometrends.com http://www.design-3000.com http://www.billigerluxus.de Urbanoutfitters.com Also if you know some other shops that deliver to Russia you are free to use their products:) Thank you very much in advance and looking forward for your questions and comments.
