Since there was no budget mentioned, I took the liberty to create a design that fully draw the potential of your existing house but not over-design it. The design will definitely give a major improvements, not only for the house itself but also to your life.
The house will be a gallery to display your artworks. With that in mind, the interior and exterior are designed with muted color (and mostly white) so that every space could become the backdrop for your artworks.
In the first floor, a fully featured bath is not necessary, instead, the bath is turned into a powder room and some of the space become the pantry. That way the reception hall will be much more appropriate, also functioning as a gallery for your artworks. The doors in this hall are camouflaged with moldings.
Doors and windows are rearranged so that everywhere you look, the space is well oriented, creating elegant interior and that also reflect on the exterior (facade).
Doors into the first floor laundry room and powder room next to it are barn sliding doors, so that the doors will not clutter the space.
On the second floor, bedroom-four wall is removed and the landing hall is restored to the original state creating a spacious and bright space, by opening the door you can do yoga and meditation while looking at the serenity of the forest.
Because of it's large size, and massive window, master bedroom wall is painted with dark color to create an intimate feeling in the space. Instead of creating a separate master closet, the closet for bedroom-three is moved to the attic space along with the bathroom, creating a larger master closet, that being said, there is plenty of space in the master laundry for storage.
All the new shower, has glass walls and doors.
In both laundry room, the dryer is stacked on top of the washing machine to get the most of the space, that means that they will need to be front loading. The ironing board is fold-able or hidden in a drawer.
The exterior cladding is white stucco, to give a modern, clean look while at the same time accentuating the traditional style of the house.
