Dear client,
it was very inspiring to work on this project. I tried to make a harmonious connection of traditional and modern design with maximall preservation of the existing facade and construction. The special attention was on the functional organization of the space, since it is a linear object in which the rooms are arranged one after the other. The main entrance to the house is positioned in the central zone and there is also the staircase. The old stair construction has been removed and it is now a storage space. The vaulted structure on the ground floor has remained and now it is a studio that may resemble a hobbit's library. The living room is located between two massive buildings and it is an open space with large openings and lots of light. The wall with TV is the little gallery on the other side.
Living room is followed by a kitchen and dining room, and at the end of this line is a separate guest room with their own bathroom. The sleeping block is upstairs and each room has its own bathroom.
The space in front of the south facade is partially paved and thus has become a platform where you can place an outdoor sofa. The wall on the end of the building is a place for flowers, benches and one wall fountain.
And a few important words about the construction... I hope that the planned demolitions will not endanger the stability of the house. In any case, new ceilings should be made. The height of the wall where the opening for the first floor would be made should be checked, because if it is too small, the level of the ceiling in the part where the staircase is must be raised. The central structure in which the living room is located can be wooden, but also steel. The floors are leveled and only the studio is in the lower zero-level zone. The facade is covered with stone.
The complete design is a mixture of rustic and modern forms, which is very interesting approach in interior design.
I hope you will like this project and that it will make your life in the countryside comfortable and full of enjoyment. (The cellar isn't to big but you can reduce the studio if you have a need for it....)
