Description

The design proposal intended to introduce “ affordable luxury” concept into user’s lifestyle. With minimal cost, the value of the home can be enhanced through application of creative and thoughtful design strategies.
-
One of the primary strategies is “paying attention to detail”, which is to give extra touches to the design. Two units Semi-detached are having identical and specular floor plan, with a gentle tweak in façade finishes and roof form, it will look like two units detached houses that compliment each other. The external wall is layered up, painted in contrasting tone in order to add visual richness.
-
The idea of “Bringing Outdoor In” is incorporated throughout the design process. Ground level is slightly elevated from road level to allow natural light penetration into basement. Creating a void at front garden, it brings greenery to tavern and fireplace at basement. This further enhances the view from interior space. The garage ceiling is pushed to the limit, creating a roof garden with alfresco dining that connected to kitchen.
-
Lastly, to enjoy affordable luxury is to be minimalist in every aspect. The layout is simple yet efficient, with u-shape staircase connected all floors. Ground floor is open plan, partition wall can be added depends on customer’s interest. First Floor arrangement is straightforward yet functional, an optimised hallway giving access to three bedrooms and a bathroom.
