To improve the entrance without altering the ceiling or door height, I propose removing the first interior step and extending the floor level outward toward the pergola. By demolishing the first step and creating a small, lowered platform outside, we minimize bending on entry and achieve a smoother, more comfortable transition between the garden and the apartment, resulting in a subtle sunken entry area that still connects naturally to the outdoor space. A proper drainage hole will be included at the lowest point of the new lowered area to ensure rainwater flows away safely and does not accumulate near the door.
