CONCEPT
THE IDEA IS TO MAKE ONE UNIQUE LIVING SPACE WHICH INVOLVES DEMOLISHING THE KITCHEN WALLS AND INSERTING A KITCHEN PENINSULA WITH AN OVEN AND THE COOKTOP, IN ORDER TO MAKE IT BIGGER AND MORE PLEASANT FOR PREPARING FOOD. NOW EVERYBODY IN THE LIVING AREA CAN PARTICIPATE IN SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AROUND COOKING.
IN ORDER TO SEPARATE THE ENTRANCE FROM THE KITCHEN, I USED A PARTITIONING ELEMENT MADE OF THIN WOODEN SLATS THAT GO ALL THE WAY FROM THE FLOOR TO THE CEILING.
THERE IS A KITCHEN HOOD ABOVE THE COOKTOP TO PREVENT COOKING SMELLS FROM SPREADING. IT HANGS FROM THE FALSE CEILING WHICH CARRIES AN EXHAUST TUBE.
FLOORING IN THE LIVING ROOM REMAINS THE SAME, EXCEPT FOR THE KITCHEN WHERE THE NEW TILES REPLACE THE OLD ONES, AND COVER THE ENTIRE ENTRANCE.
IN THE HALLWAY NOW THERE IS A HUGE STORAGE SPACE.
ALL THE CABINET FRONTS ARE MADE OF MDF
WITH A WOODEN VENEER (LIGHT PINE TEXTURE). COUNTERTOPS ARE MADE OF BLACK GRANITE TO PLAY WITH THE EXISTING TERRAZZO TILES.
THE MAIN BATHROOM NOW HAS A SEMICIRCULAR SHOWER CABIN. THE FLOOR IS MADE OF SMALL BLUE TILES, AND THE WALLS OF THE WHITE ONES, COVERING THE HEIGHT OF 90CM, EXCEPT IN THE SHOWER. CABIN WHERE THEY REACH 210CM.
