Description

There were three main guiding lines on which I based my design, leading to a set of solutions for this proposal. Firstly, the breaking down of separative walls has been kept to a minimum since the apartment is in a good condition. Secondly, the installation of new waterworks has been avoided due to its considerable financial cost - therefore the WCs have remained at the same locations. Thirdly, optimal space functionality has relied on the preferences described within your contest's instructions.

I have preserved one of the two entrances so that, at the lower part of the appartment, a big multifunctional masterbedroom has been created, offering complete privacy for you, the couple. It is equipped with it's own WC/shower, a walk-in wardrobe and a separate study. The flat's section on the left has been preserved for your little twins, with the bedroom leading to the big balcony's area which is possible to roof later on, as mentioned in your description. Right next to the bedrood lies the laundry. Next to it a walk-in wardrobe for the twins, then a spacious WC with a bathtub and finally a second bedroom which can either be used as a guestroom or a playroom for the kids. The rest of the flat is in essence connected and it is in this space where one finds oneself while entering from the main entrance: we first see the dining room, preserved for special occasions, and as we walk on we find the large living room accompanied by an electric fireplace, a modern tv set and the library.

The kitchen has been placed next to the living room and is equipped with a kitchen island and a bar for everyday meals. Here is where we also find the WC for guests who visit in the living room and, last but not least, next to it lies the music studio. In this placement, isolated from the sleep & study areas, it will be able to serve your band's musical requirements with minimum disturbance.

Both kitchen and living room extend to the wide balcony's area, where -weather permitting- you can enjoy meals and relax.
