While I am planning interior of ground level, I care about outdoor functions.Because of the isolated atmosphere in the garden, entrance terrace is a nice place for some new facilities. So I propose to enlarge this place. There is a second entrance directly to the kitchenette from this terrace. It is not only useful for dinner table in the entrance terrace but also other outdoor activities. If you are planning to rent downstairs, it can turn into small kitchen that users can prepare easy food.
Although you did not ask for, I also propose a powder room for users of library and outdoor activities.
There are two bedrooms in ground floor. I tried to imagine one of them as master bedroom. You may like to use it in the future. It has a bathroom for couples as you asked for your bedroom upstairs. I have an idea of private and general outdoor terrace in the backside of the house. There is a small private conservatory for this bedroom. It is surrounded with plants inside and trees outside so that you may have this isolated atmosphere for a bathtub or a small Jacuzzi.
While I am planing planning layout for first floor I have made one basic decision. You are asking for a wider kitchen and a bathroom large enough for a bathtub and a bigger bathroom cabinet. So the second bedroom in this floor can not have a private bathroom. Furthermore I offer to demolish some of the wall that might be essential to carry roof system. Please work with a civil engineer about it. Strengthening with a steel beams might be needed. I propose a lower false ceiling for kitchen area so that you may hide this solution in it. Plus your air condition machine can be in the this ceiling if you ask for it.
LIGHTINING
For a successful lighting plan, spotlights are primary elements. I have tried to choose some examples of table lamp, floor lamp and pendant as decorative lighting elements for your house. I considered the style of each space while making this decision. You can see them in the furniture list.
EXTERNAL DESICION
First of all I want to surround all garden with trees and plants to gain privacy. Plus I tried to have 4 basic space in the garden:
1. Parking area with private entrance and main entrance with small garden
(You may like to use this garden as a hobby garden)
2. Wet area:
swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sitting areas
3. Enlarged front terrace:
entrance & dinner facilities
4. Back terrace:
private and general / open and closed spaces to use there during 4 seasons.
I have made small changes in outdoor opening of the building to gain an order. Moreover I enlarged balcony to gain shaded area in ground level. And put some plants like green roof not only to get better atmosphere inside but also to have a warmer look from outside.
FURNITURES / FINISHES / BATHROOM FIXTURES
Apart from the ready made furnitures that I have added to my lists, I propose some hand made furniture like:
- entrance dressuar
- book shelves and cabinet below staircase
- kitchenette cabinets
- laundry cabinets
- kitchen cabinets and island
- fireplace and television unit
I tried to use old furniture as much as I can. It is better to paint them to gain a harmony. I have shown the related colors.
I chose cabinets from IKEA for bathrooms however I suggest to use current basin with hand made cabinet in bathroom of bedroom-1 and powder room. I know that you want to reuse the current toilets so I do not have any proposal.
