Description

Project Name: Dark Marigold Dreams

The project was approached by studying all the available material and creating a very good understanding of the existing and what is to be proposed. The work done on the apartments, coupled with the floor tiles and bathroom furniture already bought and the existing Chippendale living room furniture were deemed a starting/reference point for this project.

For the first-floor apartment, the colour of the tiles creates a contrast with the dark coloured Chippendale furniture which I believe was particularly nice and had to be offset with another colour to create a striking and calm feeling. The colour chosen is Marigold, which can be extended to Mustard Yellow in the cases of the bedrooms and painted wall. The colour is used on the fabric of furniture and on a maximum of 1 wall surface in the apartment's rooms as well as on small details and decorations throughout.

The second-floor apartment follows a darker line, inspired by mid-century interiors and furniture that feature multiple shades of dark and grey. Similar to the floor below, a modern feel is given to the spaces by colouring 1 of the walls within a room/space in the colour black and dark grey. This allows plenty of light to enter and bounce off the walls, while at the same time create a striking contrast with the furniture chosen that highlights them and declutters the space.

In general, the feel and style are one with minimal ornamentation but plenty of verticality and fine edges supported by high-quality design furniture that highlights the selected colour palette.

I have had a great time working on this project, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I am sure it will end up looking brilliant, making you enjoy every precious moment within it.
