FIVE PATIO HOUSE

Our proposal is the use of patios as the linchpin of the architectural project, which organize, distribute and complement the interior spaces of the house. Getting as such a natural land appropriation exploiting the beautiful views of the sea and mountains.

The first patio, the entrance patio is the link between the exterior and interior of the residence, simultaneously connecting the hall to the garage and topped with a large window that allows for the first time to access to the house and fix the gaze towards the distant sea.

Through a linear axis all architectural program is designed, at the ends we have the bedrooms, each with its own patio, and in center the living area is located, designed as a completely glazed space that connects to the terrace (with its pantry) and the pool patio.

The kitchen figures as a mediating element between the living room and bedrooms, with its own courtyard that serves as an alternative dining or breakfast room with its own garden for personal growing vegetables.

The main body has a sloping roof that allows to evict the rainwater into the pool patio and opens a roof window that allows us to see the sky and the mountains. Completely solved by a supporting structure covered with traditional tiles and wood.

Similarly, with the same sloping roof concept we have a mezzanine on the guest bathroom and the laundry, to use it as a guest bedroom with an elevated view over the roofs. A space that naturally arises from the use of the generous height of the main body of the house.

Outwardly our walls are made of local stone masonry, which allows us to integrate the next context and regulate the temperature inside the house. The palette of materials minimizes the use of stone, wood and glass arises, recreating a rustic house with a thoroughly contemporary design and fluid into the wonderful natural environment of the site.
