Description

Dear Client,
This is my design proposal for the task of “Pooloft”. The project attempts to implement at most Your requirements, which are to demolish the current existing structure and rebuild the lot with a new one following the existing area of the sediment and preserving the existing defined heights.
The interior pool (7.00m/5.00m) is the centerfold of the house design, around which all the other areas are placed, due to the fact that the plot is placed in a somewhat unfavorable position for a housing unit - most of the exterior walls are facing someone else’s property (east side) or a high brick fence-wall (west side). In this way all the rooms have a nice and private view of the pool area, much like an “Atrium” in an ancient Roman villa.
The entrance to the house is on the east side under the existing gable roof structure (preserved in current project). The first thing when one enters the house is the pool and sun area with the loft balconies all around it. The pool and sun area has folding windows on the west façade, as well as sliding roof windows on top, which can be open, thus making the pool entirely outdoor in summer and entirely indoor at winter. The living and dining area is placed on the south side in direct connection with the pool area via foldable glass windows , which could also be open during summer. The living room is equipped with a large fireplace, and in order to exploit the set existing interior height of approx.. 5 meters, a loft bookshelf balcony is formed around it.
The kitchen area with a kitchen island is placed in direct connection to the living room as well as to the exterior dining and BBQ area which has an independent kitchen with large BBQ fireplace. The garage is accessible through the road access on the east. Next to the garage there is dry storage and a bathroom for the living area.
The “sleeping area” is placed on the north side of the plot and it includes two large loft bedrooms (incl. master bedroom), a guest bedroom, and bathroom and laundry room. The master bedroom is organized as a loft - on the first level there is a walk-in storage and a bathroom overlooking the pool via one-way see through glass, and on the second level there is the king-sized bed with make-up area. The “children” bedroom N1 is also organized as a loft – each story is organized for one kid. Both bedrooms have a loft balcony overlooking the pool area.
The overall exterior and interior design attempts to give the home a bright, open and timeless look with some contemporary touches.
I hope you like my design :)
Best Regards:
M.Stoyanov
