INFORMAL & COZY
The idea from which the project takes shape starts from the image of the stones eroded by the currents of a rushing torrent. In the wide space of intervention, the free flow of people "dig" their paths between the furnishings, these, consequently, take shape in a natural way, supporting with soft curves, the flow of "currents". In this way the tables are concentrated in the areas where the existing pillars are located, leaving open areas emptier.
Starting from the unavoidable presence of the existing pillars, concentrations of tables form Clusters where relationship space is more intimate and familiar, where people can meet and share their experiences and their daily explorations enjoying a snack without realizing being in a larger room. Around the pillars, in fact, the wooden floors are multiplied, sometimes made up of tables at normal height, sometimes by comfortable seats, sometimes with a high floor where to approach with stools, sometimes they are simply shelves for indoor plants . This conformation creates around the structures "divisors" which, although partially allowing views to cross them, divides the large space into more intimate and familiar units.
The explicit design intention is to guarantee a wide variety of seats (high stools, chairs, armchairs, sofas, benches) so that everyone can find their own personal "comfort zone" in relation to the mood of the moment, to space use , to the activity to be performed, depending on the time of day. In total, the proposed layout guarantees 78 normal sessions at the table both on bench and on chair (existing ones are reused), 20 seats on high stool (in addition 12 more near the bar counter), about 16 on armchairs and sofas (low seats with side table).
The tables (2 types), with their natural profile triangular or trapezoidal, can be combined in different ways, allowing different combinations to give customers the opportunity to find almost infinite forms of sociality. Their construction system is very simple, a plane and the necessary legs consisting of cylindrical metal profiles, thus ensuring cost-effectiveness and easy maintenance.
The kitchen-buffet station (looks like a kitchen with a cooker hood and worktop, with shelves at different heights to place the buffet trays), the bar counter and the walk-in wine cabinet, are designed like the rest of the furnishings , rounded shapes that "support" the flow of people, consisting of superimposed horizontal planes. It is also planned to re-use existing chairs, some benches and possibly also armchairs.
Colors and materials used concentrate on desaturated tones, pickled woods, ceiling with bleached oak slats, and gray stone cladding.
The lights are, for the most part, made up of hidden LED strips and form a grazing lighting that enhances the materiality of the surfaces. In the hall, there are, distributed uniformly but randomly, pendants made of luminous spheres so as to spread direct light on the surfaces of the tables, as well as on the bar counter with simple cylindrical pendants.

L'idea da cui il progetto prende forma parte dall'immagine delle pietre erose dalle correnti di un torrente impetuoso. Nell'ampio spazio di intervento i flussi liberi di persone "scavano" i loro percorsi tra gli arredi, questi, di conseguenza, prendono forma in modo naturale, assecondando con morbide curve, il fluire delle "correnti". In tal modo i tavoli si concentrano nelle zone dove i pilastri esistenti si situano, lasciando invece più vuote le aree più aperte.
A partire dalla presenza imprescindibile dei pilastri esistenti, gli addensamenti di tavoli formano dei Cluster dove lo spazio di relazione è più intimo e famigliare, dove le persone possono incontrarsi e condividere le proprie esperienze e le proprie esplorazioni giornaliere gustando uno snack senza rendersi conto di essere in un ambiente più grande. Attorno ai pilastri infatti si moltiplicano i piani di legno, costituiti a volte da tavoli ad altezza normale, a volte da comode sedute, a volte con un piano alto dove accostarsi con gli sgabelli alti, a volte invece sono semplici mensole che accolgono piante da interni. Questa conformazione crea attorno alle strutture dei "divisori" che pur consentendo in modo parziale allo sguardo di attraversarli, divide l'ampio spazio in unità più intime e famigliari.
L'esplicita intenzione progettuale è quella di garantire una grande varietà di sedute (sgabelli alti, sedie, poltrone, divani, panche) cosicché ognuno posso trovare una propria "comfort zone" personale in relazione all'umore del momento, all'uso dello spazio, all'attività da compiere, all'ora del giorno. In totale il layout proposto garantisce 78 sedute normali al tavolo sia su panca sia su sedia (vengono riutilizzate quelle esistenti), 20 sedute su sgabello alto (in più altre 12 vicino al bancone del bar), circa 16 su poltrone e divani (sedute basse con tavolino d'appoggio).
I tavoli (di 2 tipologie e realizzabili su disegno), dato il loro profilo naturaliforme a base triangolare o trapezoidale, possono essere accostati in diversi modi, dando origine ad aggregazioni sempre diverse per dare ai clienti la possibilità di trovare forme di socialità pressoché infinite. Il loro sistema costruttivo è molto semplice, un piano e le necessarie gambe costituite da un profilo metallico cilindrico, garantendo così economicità e facile manutenzione.
La postazione di cucina-buffet (appare come una cucina corredata di cappa e piano di lavoro, con ripiani a diverse altezze per posizionare i vassoi del buffet), il bancone del bar e la cabina dei vini, sono pensati come il resto dell'arredo, forme arrotondate che assecondano il flusso di persone, costituiti da piani orizzontali sovrapposti. Si prevede inoltre il riutilizzo delle sedie esistenti, di alcune panche ed, eventualmente, anche delle poltrone.
Colori e materiali impiegati si concentrano su toni desaturati, legni decapati, soffitto con doghe di rovere sbiancato, rivestimenti in pietra grigia a spaccatello.
Le luci sono per la maggior parte costituite da strisce led nascoste e formano una illuminazione radente che valorizza la matericità delle superfici. Nella sala sono distribuite in modo uniforme ma random, pendenti costituiti sfere luminose così da distribuire luce diretta sulle superfici dei tavoli, così come sul bancone del bar con semplici pendenti cilindrici.
