housing - small-apt
Renovations and redecorations do not need to be hard or expensive. The goal of this design was to maintain practicality of space usage, making use of an existing good home layout. Most design decisions were made in order to maximize movement flow and visual flow between kitchen, dining and living. As these are social spaces, they are inherently and intimately connected at all times. However, just as there are continuities, there are also separations, and this was treated with carefully selected materials that give warmth and life to the spaces. The furniture was selected based on the criteria that they had to be child-proof. In addition, the furniture also had to be flexible to accommodate different scenarios as the family grows over time. The resulting design is a coherent and well thought-out resolution for the modern and practical family.
