Project description

Dear Client,

Thank you for this opportunity. It has been a pleasure working on your project, and I hope the proposed design meets your expectations and aligns with your needs.

The concept focuses on creating a smooth transition between the upper deck and the soil grade. This is achieved through a stepped feature that moves from the right side of the garden to the left in an "S" shaped form. By thus, reflecting the form of the upper concrete deck and blending naturally in harmony with the surroundings. A planter is embedded within the step in the middle portion —unused with no dedicated function space—paired with an additional planter built into the upper deck above. The upper planter can function as a small water feature or a pond to accommodate aquatic plants if desired, or it can act as a regular planter instead.

On the left side, the second step is widened to incorporate a built-in groove with a grill to accommodate the new dogwood tree, which will replace the dying maple. On the right side, turf-stone pavers are introduced at the same level as the upper step, allowing to raise the soil for a pollinator garden in this area.

From these stepped elements, a natural-stone walkway leads the path through an organic garden. Its gentle curves and form cut through pollinator-friendly plantings, turf areas, and lush greenery. Curb stones outline and defines the garden’s perimeter, ensuring a smooth transition between the upper turf grass and the wooden fence.

Maple, apple, and pine trees are introduced as part of the planting scheme, offering species that are well-suited to the environment and consistent with the surrounding landscape of British Columbia.

I hope this design and proposal satisfy your requirements and provide meaningful enhancements to your garden. If you have any suggestions, questions, or would like to request any adjustments, please feel free to reach out.

Warm regards,
