Project description

The Transforming Harmonic Garden

This project transforms the outdoor space into an intimate and vibrant retreat, designed to be experienced with energy and appreciation through every season. The goal is to enhance the existing structures by integrating the principles of Feng Shui, ensuring balance, harmony, and an improved quality of outdoor living.
At the heart of the design lies a sinuous gravel pathway, which abandons straight lines in favor of a fluid movement that guides visitors through the garden. This path connects each outdoor “room,” culminating in the northwest corner with a softly shaped pond, a Water element symbolizing calmness and prosperity.
The trampoline area has been reimagined as an evolving feature: today it serves as a border of aromatic herbs and pollinator-friendly plants, but it is ready to transform into a spiral herb garden in the future, enriching sensory experience and biodiversity.
Each functional zone has been reinforced to extend outdoor usability. The existing concrete paving has been retained and refined with planters and white decorative pebbles, while the new WPC anti-slip deck around the pool features a social seating area with a gas fire table, extending outdoor comfort well into autumn and winter.
The dining area is sheltered by a Bioclimatic Pergola, an elegant and technical solution providing adjustable shading and wind protection.
The plant palette was carefully selected to ensure visual interest throughout the year: evergreens, early blooms, and hardy species suitable for the local climate (Zone 9a/8b). Natural surfaces, such as stone slabs set into the grass and the WPC decking, ensure durability and a seamless transition between built and green areas.
The result is a harmonic and evolving outdoor oasis, where design, energy, and the rhythm of the seasons merge to create a balanced and engaging living environment.
