Thank you for the opportunity to take part in your contest.
The idea is to keep as much as possible of the existing house but to create an absolutely different modern vision with flat roofs and simple architectural volumes.
We kept the existing staircase as a possibility to access APP 1. We created a new terrace facing south-west. A small closed with a door interior stair leads to the upper floor. The stair is designed to take the minimum of the space and to be hidden.
A new external stair on the west goes to the APP 2. It passes APP 1 and because you need sometimes to use these apartments separately, we created an additional door from the stair to the terrace of APP 1. This door can be closed when needed.
APP 2 is small but with a big nice terrace where an outdoor dining and relaxing can be created.
The architecture is minimalistic but in harmony of the existing buildings. The facades are made of natural materials - wood and white plaster.
