I would like to create a relaxing and welcoming room for my 14 year old daughter in a small space. (It’s the small room that you can see in the floor plan, next to the bathroom. The part that is not marked on the floor plan but you can see in photo 4 & 6 is a part of the column that protrudes on the left angle of the window.)
The room is currently furnished with a built-in closet, a single fabric bed, a 2 meter long desk, a small library and a chest of drawers.
It’s been a while that we’re wondering how to change the arrangement of the furniture and move the bed in order to make the bedroom more comfortable and functional.
We’re going to renew all the furniture so feel free to be creative.
What we need:
Giulia (our daughter), loves a tidy room with few stuff. She needs a large wardrobe for her clothes and a desk with drawers, a library or shelves.
At the moment, she’s used to a 2 meter long desk. She’d be ok with a slightly smaller one, but not much smaller. She could also be interested in a “desk with personality”, not necessarily white.
The current bed with a headboard is very bulky, we’d like a sleeker one that should NOT be green, as now.
The current closet that is placed in the recess is not very functional. In the same recess, we would like a custom designed, built-in wardrobe.
Giulia would love to have an armchair or something similar, but we’re not sure if it’s possible.
She doesn’t like colored walls. Been there, done that and then painted everything white again. She loves white and light colors.
Lighting is very important, since her room gets really little light and needs lighting even during the day. The lighting on the desk is very important, Giulia studies a lot!
