Based on the brief and your particular attention to a well-lit space, I decided to proceed with light as my Concept. For this concept, the main aim is to achieve a playful light vs shadow dynamics in every room of the house.

Natural light;
Your new apartment has an advantage since it has large glass doors. My aim is to take advantage of the windows and use them as my main source of Natural light. For the light to be maximized I opted to do away with the existing partition walls in order for light to effectively reach the other side of the room. Both the living room and Kitchen window will be used as light sources to light the corridor with natural light.

As for the partition walls, I've decided to design one with various ideas in mind.
First is functionality. For that reason, the partition wall will act as an artistic plant shelf with downlights installed for artificial lighting purposes. It will also act as a bookshelf on the narrow face of the wall. This way it acts as more than just a partition wall. For this reason I would suggest the partition wall to be made of oak wood to match the floor.
Second is to allow some of the light to reach the corridor. It's is for this very reason that I decided it would be best if porous.
Third is for the aesthetics. Porous walls help enhance rooms. This is because it creates a light and shadow play though out the wall.
The same light and shadow play through natural light is also achieved with the ceilings. This will help to adds depth to the space.

Artificial lighting;
With artificial lighting, it is relatively easier to achieve light and shadow play. This is achieved by various lighting system. This includes: - ceilings downlights, wall lamps, chandelier, hidden line lights and ceiling lamps. Each lighting system will have its own switch to help you control lighting to your pleasure.
Ceiling designs are more personalized to fit the specific function of the room. This in turn will create a unique and beautiful experience with each room for more depth. Hidden line lights should be fixed a few centimeters inwards to create shadows on the ceiling.

Materials;
Just like my aim with light and shadow play, it is befitting that the color scheme should involve both light and dark colors. This can be used to emulate one consistent theme throughout the design.
With the walls I found out that the classic modern walls can be elegant, stylish and still stick to the theme of light and shadow play. Walls should be painted with light colors to make shadows pop more. A classic modern wall design also helps to amplify modern wall ornamentation such as paintings. This is achieved because attention is being drawn towards the wall.
