I was very happy doing the project of "My Lighthouse" because: First of all you were very clear and precise explaining your needs and wishes about the functional scheme and how the life should look through day and night. I am glad because it is similar to my ideas of designing this space. I hope I provided a god answering project to your vision.Thank you!
First I want to give a short overlook on the plan. The project is completly in line with your demand to have one big living/sleepeng space. This is provided by demolitioning the middle wall, that you sugested. This wall is replaced with a new "multiple slyding door -wall". This wall is designed in that way that it can be very versatile and respond to different needs of the users, depending of the course of the day/night. In that means we have 3 diferent positions of this "slyding door-wall":
1. In the first position it can be opened complitely which is a NIGHT position, when the master bedroom needs more privacy.
2. Second position is totaly opposite to position1-the doors are completly folded in the "left" side. That opens up the whole space and makes it so much bigger. This position is intended for bigger diners with guests, parties, or simply when the users need bigger space. This is a DAY position.
3. Third position is when the side doors are sligthly open, it is mostly used position because it hides the master bed, but also gives the feeleng of the open and lighter space. This is also a DAY position.
Two other elements that provide this functional scheme are the wall mounted master bed (in the bedroom) and the living room sofa that provides two separate beds for sleeping.
Wall mounted/folding bed is placed on the west wall and it is hidden behind the slyding door wall from the living room so it doesn't have to be folded every day (hidden in the wall)-only when it is needed!
I also wanted to mention the type of sofa which is very much suitable for this layout is very important. In my opinion "Vallentuna" from Ikea would respond to your needs very well. It is made from separate parts which you can choose in different form and colour. I suggested this variant which is the biggest one that this space can support, but it can also be smaller, ofcourse. The big plus of this type sofa is that it can be consistent of parts that are also containers for linnen or some other useful stuff.
The layout of the kitchen and bathroom is very simple, ther are no technicaly demanding works to be done. I only aded two smaler partition walls. One to the entrance and one to the laundary space. I created a small separate space for washing machine and dryer because I didn't wanted to ruin the layout of the bathroom, but also I didn't want to take any precious space in the kitchen for this. This way you also get to have a small hall before the bathroom which adds on privacy.
