Come prima azione di progetto lo spazio è stato liberato dalle tramezzature esistenti configurando un grande open space che gravita intorno ad un esistente pilastro in cemento armato.
Da questo unico elemento strutturale, rivestito con una malta cementizia fine, e dalle bucature che caratterizzano l'attuale involucro,
è stato possibile realizzare il nuovo assetto planimetrico della casa, organizzato intorno a 3 volumi principali:
- la libreria la quale corre sottostante la trave esistente e divide la zona giorno dalla zona notte;
- il volume della cucina;
- il volume dei servizi igienici principali.
Ognuno di questi elementi è stato caratterizzato attraverso un unico materiale ovvero il legno grazie al quale è stato possibile restituire un ambiente accogliente dai colori caldi in contrasto con le superfici astratte dei muri, del pavimento e del solaio superiore.
Il soggiorno, in continuità con la sala da pranzo, attraverso questa distribuzione, gode di un doppio affaccio, sia verso il quartiere, sia verso la corte interna del palazzo.
Per ottimizzare lo spazio a disposizione e per garantire una buona separazione tra i diversi ambienti, lungo il corridoio, aldilà di una porta a scomparsa, è stata realizzata una piccola lavanderia, così come richiesta, mentre grazie ad una porta a libro la zona cottura può essere nascosta e separata dalla sala pranzo

As a first step of the project, the space was freed from the existing partitions by configuring a large open space that gravitates around an existing reinforced concrete pillar.
From this single structural element, covered with a fine cement mortar, and from the openings that characterize the current envelope,
it was possible to create the new layout of the house, organized around 3 main volumes:
- the bookcase which runs underneath the existing beam and divides the living area from the sleeping area;
- the volume of the kitchen;
- the volume of the main toilets.
Each of these elements was characterized by a single material, i.e. wood, thanks to which it was possible to restore a welcoming environment with warm colors in contrast with the abstract surfaces of the walls, floor and upper attic.
The living room, in continuity with the dining room, through this distribution, enjoys a double view, both towards the neighborhood and towards the internal courtyard of the building.
To optimize the space available and to guarantee good separation between the different rooms, along the corridor, beyond a retractable door, a small laundry room has been created, as requested, while thanks to a folding door, the cooking area can be hidden and separated from the dining room
