This should be a place to accommodate lots of guests. The kitchen should be large and open for cooking and entertaining.
I want to keep the structural changes in the existing main house to a minimum. In the second set of cad drawings i show the location of the main elements. The master suite will take up two of the current bedrooms plus one bath. the 3rd bedroom thinking becomes the dining room with walls blown out. please note that they current family room is set down two steps so its dimensions cannot be changed. The idea is to add bedrooms where the current garage is as well as add a second story over the garage with additional bedrooms and living area (think space for teenagers to gather). the current garage could be completely torn down but should keep the same slab footprint. the addition of the second story is shown to overhang the first story creating covered parking.
The new garage i have shown with a covered patio coming off the back. would eventually put a pool right off of the covered patio on the back of the new garage.
