I just bought this mid century lake house. It has incredible bones but needs updating. I need new floors and paint as well as lighting. I love the fireplace but not sure how to make the furniture work with it. Keywords for the space are are warm, comfy, cozy, happy, lounge, connection. I want the living room to comfortably seat 6 people. This will be a place for friends and family to get away and relax and connect with each other. I have a hanging chair that might be fun in this space (see reference photo #2). I’d like to have some rugs to help warm the space up. I’d love to have a table for eating/game playing too. I would like to add an island in the kitchen that seats 2-3 people (bar height).I would like to have a small area to work on my computer…the computer screen could double as a place to watch movies.
