Living Room and gallery
Living room is designed as the main area of the apartment. With a sofa, two armchairs and two tabourets there is enough place to sit and hangout or relax. Ambient of the living room as well as the whole apartment is provided by using materials such as: metal, wood, brick, concrete and leather. For walls I decided to use bricks and concrete which fit together nicely but still can be used to visually divide space and create separate areas of the apartment. Above a larger part of the living room there is a gallery which I extended a little bit so there can be placed working and relaxing area. A metal working desk is placed on the wall, in the form of a console. Next to the entrance to the master bedroom I provided a sofa and one armchair which can be used as a relaxation area or can be transformed to sleeping area for the guests. Metal beams and wooden boards of gallery are visible from the living room, completing ambient that way.
On the wall with the window I placed staircase so the window can be reached from the „bridge“ which goes from one wall to another. The material I used for the stairs is metal which is strong but can provide thin and elegant elements. Beneath the stairs that lead to the gallery there are one going to the basement as well with the same materialization.
On the wall opposite from the sofa I designed tv shelf which merges with first steps of the staircase, making continuity and uniting space.
Kitchen
Placement of the kitchen is different compared to the existing condition. This way you get more space and easier access to all kitchen elements. In the same room there is a table with 4-6 places. For walls I used white brick and concrete as well as in the living room with dark gray kitchen elements and wooden details.
Bathroom and laundry
Bathroom is placed in the same area as in the existing condition. It is imagined with dark gray tiles, industrial design sink and shower with glass panels. Access to the bathroom is through the laundry room with a vertical element which contains washing machine and dryer, one on the top of the another, and on the opposite wall there is an ironing board which can be lifted when not used.
Master bedroom
The master bedroom contains a walk-in closet, a master bathroom and a sleeping area with the king size bed. Entrance to the sleeping area is trough the walk-in closet with dark gray concrete walls in contrast to the white brick walls in the bedroom. On the opposite side of the bed I provided a metal TV shelf and a dressing table. Next to the TV shelf there is a bathroom which contains a industrial design sink, a toilet and a large shower. A shower is separated from the sink and the toilet. Entrance to the bathroom is made of fogged glass and metal so the sun light can come through. The bathroom is in dark shades with gray wall and floor tiles, creating a contrast to the bedroom and making it more visually different area.
Tavern
The tavern is placed in the basement, with an access from the living room above by the metal staircase. As soon as you enter the tavern there is a small bar with two stools for casual drinks. On the other side of the bar I placed rack for drinks so they can be easily served. On the opposite side of the stairs I placed another shelf for drinks and two sofas for more comfortable feeling. The sofas can be used for sleeping as well. All walls of the basement are from white bricks as they currently are, giving the tavern a sense of the past times combined with a modern elements.
