This is a detached house with garden on 3 levels and with a plot of land of about 1000 square meters. It was built in 1980, adjacent to a road on the northside and the westside, to a building on the eastside building and to a house on the southside.
It was purchased in 2001, we have made very few changes, please find attached the original plan with measurements (fig. n.2) and the actual one (fig. n.1).
We would like to renovate the living area, making it more modern and functional but warm and welcoming.
Also, we would like few ideas on how to furnish the outer space (pic. n. 15) for outdoor dining (e.g. table, chairs, flooring and possible coverage).
What we don’t like:
1- FIREPLACE – we don’t like it for the aesthetics, the colours and the space that is cold, bare and useless, mostly as it is an area of passage
2 – WESTSIDE ENTRY – Aesthetically pretty but unused
3 – LACK OF CLOSETS IN BOTH THE ENTRY – Shoes and jackets create chaos
4 – DARK DOORS AND SKIRTING BOARD – They oppress the room
5 – NO BRIGHTNESS – We partially sorted out using solar tunnel installation
6 – COLD FLOOR – Although easy to clean and stain resistant.
What we like:
1 – BOOKSHELF – useful, order sensation, light colours.
2 – PIANO CORNER – useful, we like the look of the piano with paintings
3 – KITCHEN WALL- useful and cosy if designed on A wall
4 –SIDEBOARD WALL- a vintage touch gives character to the kitchen.
COLOURS:
White or cream, light wood, some elements in black, grey, red. We would like continuity within the colours.
STYLE:
Nordic, modern, linear, some elements of vintage and country chic.
Preferences:
-Light wood floors
-Interiors of doors and window frames in white or cream (to be replaced or repainting).
-Separated cooking area to prevent odours (we also will evaluate other options).
-A large table for dining, working or having guests (or 2 tables that we can join).
-Spacious kitchen worktop.
FURNITURE TO KEEP:
bookshelf, piano, at least one vintage element (e.g. sideboard)
IF POSSIBLE WE ASK:
-The analysis of the potential of our house.
-We would prefer solutions that preserve the actual areas to reduce costs, but we are also open to alternative solutions (e.g. to demolish walls or changing the intended use of the spaces if your proposals will be interesting)
-Reorganisation of the spaces
-Changing the chimney space
– Furniture schema (some furniture or element that gives character to the whole house)
– Advice on curtains, fabric, painting, lighting, light fixtures
– Advice on the outside space organisation (we don’t want to cement yet maintaining the grass).
Thank you, we await proposals.
