Description

I tried to create a flexible space that could change configuration according to different needs. In order to maximize the space, I planned to move the electric/gas boiler inside the bathroom, installing it in a corner, above the washing machine. The kitchen is concentrated in the part of the entrance: two tall cabinets contain standard refrigerator, compact oven and dishwasher, and free space for storage; an island tailor made forniture provides a work surface with sink and induction hob/electric cookers as well as big space underneath for storage; a shelf above the island contains the hood and objects for everyday use in the kitchen. An extensible consolle performs a variety of functions: it increases the work space in the kitchen (if you put it close to the island), it becomes a dining table that has between 1 and 10 people (minimum length 50 cm, maximum 180 cm). The rest of the room is set up as a dining/relax area or as a sleeping area for 2/4 people. Along the walls I fixed cabinets and columns of different depths (60 and about 40 cm) for the storage of clothes/shoes/utensils, and the elements that contain the transformable beds. A mobile library allows overlaps the block containing the beds for guests, so as to maximize the space in their absence, and to act as a partition in case they are in. I suggest a wooden floor, which makes a more comfortable environment, and, about the lighting, to put the luminaires above the high cabinets (neon or LED) and under the shelf in the kitchen (to illuminate the work/cooking surface). About the colors, due to the small spaces, I suggest light and warm colors, which give a feeling of comfort and brightness. I hope you’ll enjoy it!
