LA PIADINA BELLA
Fresh, simple yet satisfying, a piadina epitomises Italian cuisine. The design for a piadina take away draws from traditional Italian attitudes to dining while modernising it for the contemporary Italian city.

FRAME
In a celebration of the kitchen and the drama of food preparation, the separation between the front of house and kitchen is framed by a portal which seemingly puts the kitchen on show, like a piece of vibrant, moving artwork. Visitors to the restaurant can see the chef preparing the ingredients and assembling the piadina whilst they wait for the food.

THE LONG TABLE
Taking the design cue from the long table found in Italian kitchens used for preparing and eating, a singular long table extends from the kitchen area into the front of house. Along this table, the piadina is prepared, served and could even be eaten. This concentration of activity along the single long table emphasizes the homely and Italian tradition of the piadina.
