Project description

Concept

A contemporary social kitchen seamlessly integrated with a TV/ lounge area. Clean lines, a warm palette, and discreet technology turn the kitchen into the home’s social core, where cooking, conversation, and relaxation flow as one.

Spatial Strategy

L-shaped kitchen with a continuous wall of white tall units (pantry, oven column, refrigerator) to keep circulation clear and the volume visually calm.

Functional island with a dark stone worktop for prep and a cantilevered wood breakfast bar (white support leg), creating a dual read: task + social.

TV lounge aligned with the kitchen for constant visual connection: white sofa, nested coffee tables (white + oak), and a low media console that reinforces horizontal lines.

Corner glass display cabinet beside the refrigerator acts as a refined transition between kitchen and lounge, with illuminated shelving.

Materials & Palette

Cabinet fronts: white, flat (gola/hidden pulls) for a minimal, luminous look.

Countertops:

Perimeter in light oak wood, rising as a continuous backsplash.

Island in black stone/porcelain for durability and easy upkeep.

Living furniture: low TV console with woven/cannage texture adds tactile warmth.

Flooring: large-format polished white porcelain, amplifying light and continuity.

Accents: natural wood, matte black hardware/lighting, and natural fiber textiles (jute, knit).

Layered Lighting

Perimeter LED cove to wash walls and unify the ambience.

Recessed downlights for unobtrusive general lighting.

Black pendants over the island to stage the casual dining scene.

Under-cabinet linear LEDs for precise task lighting.

Back-lit round mirror on the lounge wall: a sculptural focal point that visually expands the room.

Vertical light detail with slatted panel by the door: both scenographic and wayfinding.

Function & Ergonomics

Optimized work triangle: refrigeration (tall column), sink by the window (natural light), and cooking on the right run; the island boosts prep area and doubles as a gathering spot.

Generous storage in the tall unit run; lit glass cabinet for frequently used/ornamental pieces.

Technical management: concealed cable routing at TV unit; proper ventilation for ovens/fridge; continuous surfaces for easy cleaning.

TV Area Details

Wall-mounted TV with no visible cables.

Low, continuous console (cannage texture) keeps the composition light while hiding media gear.

Soft elements (pouf, jute rug, throw) warm the mineral character of the kitchen and aid acoustic comfort.

Sustainability & Maintenance

All-LED lighting with dimming options for efficiency and visual comfort.

Non-porous, high-resistance surfaces (stone/porcelain at the island; lacquered/laminated fronts for easy cleaning).

High-efficiency appliances (oven column, latest-gen refrigerator).

Outcome

A cohesive, warm interior where technology recedes, the island becomes a social stage, and the TV area converses with the kitchen through shared materials, light, and proportion. The home feels brighter, larger, and calmer—ready for everyday cooking… and weekend binge-watching.
