A vacation home, whether at the sea or at the mountains, needs big spaces that can be used throughout the day, especially those commonly used for relaxation and chatting - even better with spectacular views. The space distribution in the current apartment is very disproportionate in this sense: the living area is much smaller than that night one, occupying three-quarters of the surface. For this reason, the focal point of this project is to open the living room towards the sea and the terrace, minimizing the area of the bedrooms, while maintaining the necessary comfort and optimizing the spaces.
The kitchen opens up to the living, while remaining reserved; the latter is characterized by a large folding and soft sofa, easily transformable into several mattresses if needed. A comfortable mobile was placed at the entrance of the apartment to store shoes and jackets in total order. The two services have been maintained, creating a single central block serving the entire home; the laundry is located inside the guest toilet, hidden to the view from a wooden panel.
On the upper terrace, as required, there is a yacht-style lounge area: in this sense, every inch of space has been studied as in the design of the boats, in order to make the best use of seats, compartments, frigobar, and a small kitchenette with bbq and sink. The pergola, which will be tailored to suit the particular shape of the space, will be fully open to observe the stars and complete with minimal and almost invisible windows, so as not to affect the view on the sea and keep a clean prospect in relationship to the rest of the building, while protecting from the sea breeze.
The chosen palette is a mixture between the warmth of sandy tones and the tactile textures shaped by the action of the wind, and the fresh and elegant ones of the sea.

Una casa vacanze, sia essa al mare o in montagna, necessita di ampi spazi utilizzabili durante tutto il corso della giornata, specialmente quelli comuni e destinati al relax e alle chiacchiere - ancor meglio se con una vista spettacolare. La distribuzione degli spazi nell’attuale appartamento è molto sproporzionata in questo senso: la zona giorno è molto più piccola rispetto a quella notte, che occupa tre quarti della superficie. Per questo motivo il punto focale di questo progetto è aprire il soggiorno verso la vista sul mare e sul terrazzo, rimpicciolendo al massimo l’area delle camere da letto, pur mantenendo il comfort necessario e ottimizzandone gli spazi.
La cucina si apre sul living, pur rimanendo riservata; quest’ultimo è caratterizzato da un grande divano componibile e morbido, facilmente trasformabile in diversi materassi qualora necessario. Un comodo mobile è stato posizionato all’ingresso dell’appartamento per riporre scarpe e giacche in totale ordine. I due servizi sono stati mantenuti, creando un unico blocco centrale che serve l’intera casa; la lavanderia è posta all’interno del wc per gli ospiti, nascosta alla vista da un pannello in legno.
Al terrazzo superiore, come da richiesta, si trova uno spazio lounge in stile yatch: in questo senso ogni centimetro a disposizione è stato studiato come nella progettazione delle barche, al fine di utilizzarlo al meglio, tra sedute, scomparti, frigobar, un tavolo apribile e un piccolo angolo cottura con bbq e lavello. La pergola, che sarà realizzata su misura per meglio adattarsi alla particolare conformazione dello spazio, sarà completamente apribile per osservare le stelle e completata da vetrate dai profili minimi e quasi invisibili, per non impattare la visuale sul mare e mantenere un prospetto pulito nei confronti del resto dell’edificio, proteggendo al tempo stesso dalla brezza marina.
La palette scelta è un misto tra il calore dei toni sabbiosi e le texture tattili modellate dall’azione del vento, e quelli freschi ed eleganti del mare.
