The main concept of this project is based around subtle and minimalistic design principles. The interior is chracterised by clean white walls and oak wood floors. The furniture contains white, gray and ecru tones with some blue highlights in the living room. The toilets contain ceramic tiles of two different but matching color tones: a lighter shade for the walls and a darker one for the floors.
By making bathroom 1 smaller, a certain amount of space becomes available for use as a guest room featuring a collapsable sofa, a work desk and a closet. This space can also be used as a study/work room or as a small home office. The wall separating the entrance hall and the living room is made from glass blocks featuring a large door which connects these two areas, which allows better lighting in the hall coming from the living room but also a better view of the living room from the entrance.
The kitchen is organized in a linear fashion: two sinks, a cooking area, an oven, a dishwasher, a microwave, a refrigerator and a kitchen table. The kitchen is separated from the living room by a half-wall opening featuring simple decorative elements which allow some light and visibility between the two areas but still conceal the kitchen area from the living room. The bedrooms are organized in a similar fashion, allowing enough space for a king-sized bed and two nightstands on each side of the bed as well as plenty of closet space.
This modern home maintains a clean canvas to put life and love at the forefront. The relationship between space and form becomes more important than decoration itself, relying on materials to provide the texture and color that makes this space interesting. If you love the natural and easygoing side of minimalism, this space is sure to spark ideas.
