Gent. Sig.ri Guazzi,

Nella progettazione del vostro nuovo appartamento sono partito dalle vostre idee e richieste per cercare di intuire quale fosse lo spazio da voi ricercato, questo mi ha portato a definire degli elementi che ho reputato essere essenziali:
-l’utilizzo di materiali tradizionali come il legno, la pietra e il vetro
-la ricerca di uno stile innovativo e di linee moderne
-una zona giorno caratterizzata da ampie vetrate e quindi dominata dalla luce.
Partendo da queste basi ho cercato quindi di realizzare uno spazio di design, sintesi tra modernità e tradizione, spazio dove appunto materiali come il legno e la pietra vengano inseriti in un ambiente di carattere moderno.
A questo elemento essenziale ne ho affiancato un altro basilare per un progetto che risulti pensato e fattibile, il carattere della sostenibilità e del risparmio energetico, argomento divenuto essenziale in qualsiasi progettazione architettonica, a maggior ragione in un intervento che prevede la realizzazione di ampie vetrate, carattere architettonico esteticamente gradevole ma che richiede una corretta progettazione strutturale per evitare problematiche energetiche e di degrado, pertanto ho cercato di coniugare gli aspetti di design e composizione con tutti gli accorgimenti tecnici che permettono la minimizzazione delle problematiche sopracitate.
Ultimo elemento guida da me utilizzato nella fase progettuale è la sostenibilità economica, tutto il progetto è strutturato infatti ragionando su questo aspetto, fare un intervento di qualità a buon prezzo.
Questa idea mi ha portato a mantenere l’espansione dell’edificio contenuta nel sedime preesistente, con la realizzazione di un ampliamento misurato. Penso infatti che la realizzazione di grandi volumetrie non siano necessarie, oltre che onerose, dato che lo sfruttamento degli spazi e ampliamenti mirati permettano la creazione di uno spazio gradevole senza ampliamenti che oltretutto renderebbero l’edifico disarmonico nell’insieme.
La scelta di un arredo e di finiture di buona fascia, assieme agli aspetti già citati di risparmio energetico e di ampliamento oculato concorrono all’idea di ricerca della qualità, della bellezza e della sostenibilità sopra descritte.

IL PROGETTO
Passando all’aspetto progettuale, ho intuito dalle vostre parole la ricerca di un’area più intima e protetta dove rilassarsi e lavorare in tranquillità e di una più aperta e “sociale” dove ritrovarsi con amici, per mangiare, fare grigliate e divertirsi.
La nuova articolazione spaziale mira a questo risultato, il corridoio è naturalmente l’elemento di connessione tra gli spazi, il salotto si apre subito sulla sinistra appena entri, delimitato da una parete attrezzata con mobile tv, da un secondo setto murario e ribassato dalla controsoffittatura che ne individua lo spazio e con esso il carattere di semi-intimità. Lo studio è sulla destra, e rappresenta l’area più privata, qui ho pensato di ricollocare il vostro scaffale del soggiorno che diverrebbe perfetto per organizzare documenti e strumenti di lavoro.
Proseguendo lungo il corridoio l’apertura del grande spazio della cucina pranzo, la crescita delle altezze lascia intuire come lo spazio sia divenuto meno intimo e più conviviale, l’apice di questa ricerca di modulazione spaziale si ha però nel soggiorno, superato il setto in pietra l’area viene investita dalla luce delle ampie vetrate sia in facciata che sul tetto, siamo nello spazio clou della casa, il legno la pietra dialogano con la luce zenitale e parietale, i dettagli sono ricercati, come la giustapposizione tra la vetrata che dialoga visivamente con la taverna e la stufa ad essa allineata. La conclusione di questa articolazione lineare di spazi non può che essere una nuova veranda realizzata in legno e delimitata con strutture leggere, uno spazio anch’esso per la convivialità strettamente connesso con la zona giorno, dove poter fare barbecue rilassarsi e fare eventualmente un bagno in piscina.

Dear Guazzi,
In the design of your new apartment I started from your ideas and requests to try to guess what was the space you wanted, this led me to define the elements that I considered to be essential:
-the use of traditional materials such as wood, stone and glass
-the search for an innovative style and modern lines
-a living area which has large windows and therefore dominated by light.
On this basis I then tried to create a space by design synthesis between modernity and tradition, space precisely where materials such as wood and stone are put in an environment of modern character.
At this crucial element I joined another basic for a project that is conceived and feasible, the character of sustainability and energy conservation, become essential topic at any architectural design, even more so in an intervention that involves the construction of large windows, aesthetically pleasing architectural character but which requires proper structural design to avoid energy issues and degradation, so I tried to combine aspects of design and composition with all the technical features that allow the minimization of the above problems.
Last guiding element which I used in the design phase is the economic sustainability, the whole project is structured in fact reasoning on this issue, make a cheap quality intervention.
This idea led me to keep the expansion of the building contained in the existing premises, with the creation of a measured expansion. I think in fact that the construction of large volumes aren't needed as well as onerous. The exploitation of targeted areas and expansion will allow the creation of a pleasant space without extensions which moreover would make the disharmonious whole building.
Choosing a furniture and finishes good band, along with the aforementioned aspects of energy saving and prudent expansion contribute to the idea of the pursuit of quality, beauty and sustainability described above.

THE PROJECT
Passing at aspect of design, I realized from your words the search for more intimate and protected area to relax and work in peace and a more open and "social" to get together with friends, to eat, grilled and have fun.
The new spatial organization aims at this result, the corridor is of course the connecting element between the spaces, the lounge opens immediately on your left as you enter, bordered by a wall equipped with mobile TV, by a second partition wall and lowered from the ceiling which identifies the space and with it the character of semi-intimacy. The study is on the right, and is the most private area, here I thought I'd replace your shelf of stay which would become perfect for organizing documents and work tools.
Continuing along the corridor opening the large space of the dining kitchen, the growth of heights suggests how space has become less intimate and more convivial, the apex of this spatial modulation research has, however, in the living room, past the septum stone the area is hit by the light of the large windows on the facade is that on the roof, we highlight in the space of the house, on the converse stone wood with the overhead light and wall, the details are sought, as the juxtaposition between the glass window that communicates visually with the tavern and the stove to it aligned. The conclusion of this linear articulation of space can only be a new veranda made of wood and bordered with light structures, which is also a space for conviviality closely connected with the living area, where you can make barbecue relax and possibly a bath in pool.
