Description

The
space was designed as a dynamic place that can be quickly transform ,
the bathroom in the opposite corner
of the entrance,
design as a wood cube, it’s the only solid
volume of the whole space. A white wall use as a door divides the toilet
from the workplace, by pulling it the space will be close, just
like a normal door, by pushing it, it disappears behind the wall, and it won't be notice, it will look like a
white slot in the wood cube. The toilet
door looks like an invisible entrance, so the volume is always read as a joint item . The
space is define by two elements , one represented by the suspended staircase
in the wall, a tape that moves in a vertical way, the other;
the whiteboard, the idea is to make the meetings become part of the space , so
the wall on the mezzanine will be cover with a whiteboard, that also works as a
magnet board, this board will look like a tape that follow the shape of the
wall, and it will be very useful for the meetings. To
make better use of the space the library works also as a stair to reach the Mezzanine,
in this way the last steps are part of the library, actually stepping on top of
it. To
give the possibility to close one workstation, it was design an sliding system of three frosted
glass panels that enclose, if necessary that space,
but if it remain open the workstations would be seen as a unique element , this panels are use also as a
parapet for the mezzanine. The
project provides the use of modern and simple materials , as wood, glass and white furnishings, few elements with multiple tasks that compose
a dynamic and functional space .
